AGN variability: from physics to cosmology

Maurizio Paolillo – Uni Napoli, Napoli – Mercoledi 27 Marzo 2019  ore 11:00, Aula IB09
I will discuss our current understanding of AGN variability as a tool to investigate the fundamental properties of accreting supermassive BlackHoles, to select populations of accreting sources, to trace their accretion history through cosmic time, and the future opportunities to use it as a tool for cosmological studies, with particular emphasis to future monitoring facilities such as LSST, or X-ray missions such as Athena or eXTP.
